Once again, the players from Opole University of Technology proved that they are unmatched: they defended their cup in the Academic Polish Championships in handball.
As usual, the finals of the Academic Polish Championships were held at a very high level, both in terms of sports and organization. Teams came to Opole that included players who regularly play in league teams. This guaranteed a lot of excitement on the field.
Once again, our team retained the title of Academic Polish Champions in handball by defeating Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in the final with a score of 18:16. The players from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków placed third – they won the bronze medal match against the University School of Physical Education in Wrocław with a score of 28:19.
“The final was tough. The team from Lublin gave us a hard challenge. Although we could have had everything under control by halftime, their goalkeeper made some incredible saves. I will have fond memories of this tournament for many reasons: both for the competition and the great atmosphere in our team” summarized Michał Milewski, a player from Opole University of Technology.
