The new academic year has officially begun
The matriculation of students, the doctoral oath, the inaugural address by His Magnificence the Rector, and a lecture on artificial intelligence in science and technology were the main highlights of the formal inauguration of the 2024/2025 academic year, which took place on Wednesday (2nd of October) at Opole University of Technology.
“Our greatest value lies in the fact that, despite the demographic decline and the decreasing interest in studying among young people, we are recruiting an increasing number of students each year, who are interested in our flagship programs as well as the new offerings that we introduce annually. In this year’s recruitment, over 3,500 candidates applied to our university. Two thousand of them met the requirements and officially began their studies at Opole University of Technology on Wednesday,” reports Professor Marcin Lorenc, Rector of Opole University of Technology.
During Wednesday’s inauguration of the 2024/2025 academic year, new students took the oath and were symbolically inducted into the academic community of Opole University of Technology through the act of matriculation.
During the ceremony, a welcome was also extended to a group of students who chose our university as part of the Erasmus+ program. This semester, nearly 60 students from 21 universities located in Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, and Ukraine will be studying with us.
