The graduation ceremony

Behind them lie exams, colloquiums, and final assignments, while ahead of them are excellent career prospects – our graduates have officially received their diplomas. The formal graduation ceremony is one of the most significant events in any university’s calendar.

“On Saturday, nearly 100 of our graduates from five faculties at the Opole University of Technology received their diplomas. Many of them were honored for their theses. This is an extremely important moment in the life of our university and certainly in the lives of these young people, as they are closing an important chapter in their lives while beginning a new one, marked by many challenging decisions,” emphasized Prof. Grzegorz Robak, Vice-Rector for General Affairs at the Opole University of Technology.

“Our students, now graduates, often participated actively in student life at our university. They were active members of scientific clubs, contributed to the student government, and their work was consistently highly valued and visible throughout the university,” he added.

“We have awarded diplomas that confirm the significant knowledge and skills acquired at the Opole University of Technology. I am confident that employers will appreciate the competencies our students have gained here. I also know that the programs we offer are aligned with employer needs and thoroughly analyzed in terms of external market demands,” added Dr. Anida Stanik-Besler, Vice-Rector for Education at the Opole University of Technology.

The highlight of the ceremony was, of course, the awarding of diplomas, which graduates received from the hands of the vice-rectors and the dean of their respective faculties, dressed in gowns and caps. Graduates who achieved honors for their theses, as well as those actively involved in activities such as scientific clubs or student government, were also recognized. Earlier, the valedictory lecture was delivered by Wojciech Krupski, M.A., a management graduate.

“My studies gave me an incredible amount: business contacts, unforgettable moments, amazing connections within the academic community. These studies truly gave me so much, and the very process of studying itself… provided me with so many things that I can’t even list them all. My master’s thesis focused on academic entrepreneurship, including the motivations and barriers perceived by students at the Opole University of Technology. Of course, academic entrepreneurship encompasses all processes aimed at starting one’s own business in a narrow sense, and in a broader sense, it includes all processes that activate and encourage students to engage in business activities,” explained Wojciech Krupski, M.A., who continues to be a student at the university.

And not just that. “I chose another program: Image communication, and I became the chairman of the Student Government at the Opole University of Technology, so I’m continuing to pursue my interests in academic entrepreneurship,” added Wojciech Krupski, M.A.
